Everything YOU need to know about the powerful health benefits of Apricot Kernels (plus a FREE delicious Apricot Kernel Smoothie recipe)!
Apricot kernels are quickly becoming the new craze in the alternative health industry as discoveries are constantly being made about how effective they are in protecting cells due to high levels of Laetrile, also called Amygdalin or Vitamin B17.
There is a lot of controversy about whether or not apricot kernels are safe for human consumption and, if you’re reading this article, you may be wondering if this is all just a conspiracy theory! While conventional medicine slams apricot kernels as being a sham or even poisonous, other sources claim that apricot kernels can help to treat or prevent cancer. Most of our Feelgood Health customers like to do their own research and we would certainly encourage this in the case of adding apricot kernels to your daily regime!

Before we go into the positive impact that these wonder kernels have on your body, let’s take a look at what apricot kernels actually are, as well as what they contain in order for you to get a better understanding…
Many would assume that the apricot kernels is the entire pit of the apricot however this is not the case. The apricot kernels is actually inside the pit! If you cracked open an apricot pit, you would find a small almond-shaped seed (that could easily be mistaken for an almond)! The kernels taste wildly bitter as they contain a high volume of Amygdalin (Laetrile or B17) (another controversy – but by now you will have noticed that this innocent little kernel is filled with controversies!)
Amygdalin is a nitroloside that contains four natural substances; one bound denzaldyhide, two glucose molecules and one bound cyanide. Please be aware that bound cyanide IS NOT poisonous! It is free cyanide that causes poisoning. It is the high quantity of amygdalin that makes apricot kernels effective in treating cancer patients.

If you are new to apricot kernels, it is important that you start slowly with one apricot kernel at a time, 3 or 4 times a day – to allow your body to get used to them and then build this number up slowly. People differ in the amount they need, based on weight, age, health levels and diet. Some people take 20 – 30 kernels daily, for medicinal purposes, especially if their health is compromised. As a general protective tonic, however, 3-5 apricot kernels daily are recommended. If you are using large amounts of apricot kernels daily, it is best to do so under the supervision of your holistic health practitioner.
Caution: apricot kernels are not recommended for children, during pregnancy or for breastfeeding moms!
