What Affects Your Respiratory Health?
It seems that some of us are either born with a weaker respiratory gene or evolution over time has resulted in more people experiencing respiratory issues. This could mean that you are more prone to suffer with lung related issues like a common cold that quickly turns into full blown bronchitis, allergies, asthma and other more serious lung related illnesses. If this is the case, it would probably make sense to try and prevent a course of antibiotics at any cost. To do this, a ‘prevention is better than cure’ approach should always be applied!
There are many factors that can trigger respiratory issues in adults and children. Understanding triggers is always wise, so that you can determine exactly what might set off a respiratory issue.
Factors that can contribute to respiratory issues
- The weather – As we all know winter brings cooler weather and in saying this cooler weather often means drier air. It is said that there are more cases of asthma reported in drier weather conditions and when the air is cold. The long term side effects of using conventional asthma pumps on heart health are not great at all. We recommend a natural remedy called Umckaloabo Drops that is a respiratory tonic and natural remedy for asthma relief.
- Diet – Many conventional foods these days contain all kinds of preservatives, colourings and flavourings. These kinds of food allergens can cause havoc in the lung region if you are allergic to them. Allergens, once they reach the lungs, can cause difficulty in breathing and trigger asthma or a tight chest. Being allergic and sensitive to food allergens could also mean that you are allergic to other chemicals often found in conventional cleaning and body products. Notice how, when you use them, your body reacts to them. Sneezing, coughing and a tightness of the chest is often your body trying to say please get me away from these nasties!
- Obesity – Being obese means that there is added pressure on your diaphragm. The diaphragm is the wall that separates the stomach from the lungs. You can now see just how being overweight puts enormous strain on the lungs (and heart), often resulting in a shortness of breath after any kind of small physical activity.
- Emotion stimuli can also affect breathing. We often can’t control our emotions but extreme feelings of panic, anger, fear and excitement can also affect your breathing rhythm. Anything that is irregular, extreme and out of balance often plays out negatively through your body.
- Smoking – We all know this very obvious trigger is not good for your overall health especially your heart and lung health.
- Air pollution - Air is something that we breathe in daily. We can’t possibly control what air we breathe in. The air these days is filled with all kinds of toxins and germs. By keeping your immunity strong, you can build up a natural defence to fight off common airborne germs.
- A minor cold virus could come and go without any major problems. But if your immune system is not strong enough, a cold can turn into a secondary infection such as bronchitis or even pneumonia! Keeping your immune system strong and caring for yourself when you have a cold, can often prevent more serious infections!
In a lot of cases, more serious illnesses like bronchitis can often be avoided if you can understand what the triggers are that could be causing your respiratory issues.
Allergies can play a huge part in weakening the immune system, leading to all kinds of respiratory illnesses. By getting your allergies naturally under control and strengthening your immune system, you will find that illness will start to take a back seat in your life.
